Invitation from the Central Okla. Marine Aquarium Society

Hi fellow saltwater enthusiasts. The Central Oklahoma Marine Aquarium Society, COMAS, www.mycomas.com, is having its first annual Oklahoma City Conference for Reef Aquarists and Saltwater Enthusiasts (CRASE). This will be a single day event and will comprise keynote lectures by Dr. Ron Shimek and Mr. Steve Tyree, both of whom are distinguished speakers in the area of saltwater aquariums. In addition the President of COMAS Dr. Paul Whitby will be discussing fragmenting corals.

There will be a coral fragging demonstrationa and hands on workshop: In this workshop we will show you how to prune corals, how to mount them for the best growth and effect and also what tools you will require. We will supply everything you will need. The frags you make will be available purchase at minimal cost.

People attending this informal workshop will be shown how to make and mount frags of an SPS species, an LPS species as well as soft corals such as leathers and zoanthids. Attendance is free and you do not have to purchase the frags you make. So come join us, get your hands wet and work on propagating and conservation of corals. There will also be a hobbyist coral frag sale, vendor and trade displays as well as numerous door prizes. Steve Tyree will also be bringing limited edition corals frag for sale as well.

Date: October 13, 2007
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Place: Sellers Special Event Center
13700 N. Eastern Avenue
Edmond
Oklahoma 73013

We are inviting everyone in the surrounding states to come. We hope to expand this into a two day event in the next few years. If you have never been to OKC, check out all the things to do. We have revamped our downtown into "Bricktown" with lots of fun things including a canal running through it. Make a whole weekend of it. Edmond is a great place for shopping if you have spouses who don't like the hobby.

Hope to see some of you there!
Thanks-

The following is a list of corals that Steve Tyree of Reef Farmers will make available at the CRASE: http://www.forum.mycomas.com/foru...y.php?f=28

People who have CRASE tickets can sign up for a particular coral. If more people want the coral than there are frags available we will do a drawing of names for that frag. The list will close on Sunday Sept 22nd at midnight and names will be drawn the following Monday.

I know I put my name in the pot for 2 of the corals. They are sweet! If you don't know about Reef Farmers, look at their site. Our pres, Paul, is on a waiting list for a coral there that he may get in 2008. One that I want has a list out to 2010 but we are getting some of the limited editions!!! Hope to meet some of you there!
Anyone coming?

Great news! Steve Tyree is giving us a discount on all his frags. There is a 15% discount on all the Tyree frag prices listed in comas site: http://forum.mycomas.com/http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/f28/

For more great frags being offered for sale by local hobbyists and fish shops, check out our reef central thread here: Great news! Steve Tyree is giving us a discount on all his frags.
