calcium deficiency
i have a 40 gallon reef tank with various lps, sps, and soft corals, and a crocea clam. it is a well established tank, but for a few months(ever since i got the clam and some xenia), i have not been able to keep the calcium level above 340. i have upped the dosage of kalkwasser to over 2 tbsp. per gallon and i've tried purple-up and liquid reactor, but nothing seems to work. i'm wondering if the tank may be overstocked. also i have been getting a lot of red slime algae. is that from an elevated water temp.? if you have any suggestions i would greatly appreciate any feedback. thank you.
