Help please

Does anyone know of a club down here in Salt Lake? I just recently moved here. I'm also hoping someone can point me at a good shop to pick up salt mix, livestock.. etc etc... Thanks for the help

Hi,

We are mostly located in Colorado, with some people who come to our Northern meetings from Wyoming. You are welcome to stop by our forums at www.RMRC.info if you like.

I had one of the board members from this club visit my house when she was in Colorado, so you may want to check it out. http://www.utahreefs.com/

Hi Clown-N-Around!

Forgive the strange post; I was practicing uploading pictures . I'm down here in Albuquerque and I'm getting back in the hobby after a 2 year break. Do you know where to get cheap base rock? Thanks!

I don't know where to get cheap rock in Albuquerque, sorry, but it is fun to type Albuquerque. Nice to have you back in the hobby and good luck setting up your tank!

I know there is a garden center here in Denver where I saw "lace rock" that looked to me just like the stuff in the fish stores, I will be setting up a large tank in the next year or so, and plan to get a rock and put it in its own tank and test it, just to make sure it is safe, but might be a great way to get a couple large pieces for about 1/2 the cost. The safest bet is a fish store, but you may do the same and check out a garden center in your area. (Again, a test run would be better because I can't be sure that rocks not sold for aquarium use would be aquarium safe.)

No problem on the posts, I just thought I was missing some hidden meaning or something!

I've heard about the lace rock; I don't know anyone who's tried it. Let me know how it works! I did find a source for dry fiji rock from marco rocks dot com for under 4 a lb shipped. I'll probably do half from him and half live from the lfs to save a little cash. They say in time the dead will become live as long as you put some live in there somewhere. Good chatting with you! I've had to tell many people how to spell Albuquerque so I'm glad you enjoyed it! The water is safe to drink!
