Which Phosphate Reactor?
Two Little Fishies PhosBan Reactor 150 or Kent Marine Phos Reactor? I will be running phosban and/or carbon. Any helpful comments will be greatly appreciated.

not sure it really maters. they are both basically the same thing. phophate reactors are just a vertical flow through container. as long as the substance in it stays level the reactor will work.

Thanks. I guess I'm looking for people's preferences and why. I heard the Two Little Fishes model can be hard to seal...

tlf or kent marine are both good and affordable reactors, all you need is a mj400 and some media.

I have used the two little fishies for about a year now..JUST RECENTLY, the seal has shrunk on me and has made it difficult to seal. I have to play with it and that's not very pleasant at times ...I need to see if a replacement seal can be bought.
Other than that, the unit has never been trouble. I use it for carbon and phosphate medium.

I've got one of each, I like the two little fishies better for the screw on top, and the kent for the way the hoses are connected (less likely to come off).

Thanks all. I think I'm going to go with the TLF unit. I know replacement seals can be purchased for like $1. Although, I do worry about the hoses comming off and making a mess...

The hoses have never been an issue for me I thought that at first but realized quickly that there's not enough pressure to push them off I use a maxijet 900 btw

I think the hard to seal issue was resolved when they moved to the screw top lid... The first ones had thumb screws. I have one and it works great. I'm actually using it as a waste collector right now. I figure if I need to start running po4 media again, I'll just buy another one.

mine is a screw top too. There's an oring in it that has shrunk on me over the last year and it's difficult to center that and get it to seal properly. The first time I didn't get it right ( not knowing the seal shrunk ) water simply ran out of the lid...no big deal if the unit sits in the water actually

Not sure. The problem I've encountered is that when I screw on the top, the seal moves and gets kinked or is off center.
