I'm doing a 24" cube tank. My RO unit is mounted in the basement, and I really don't feed like hauling 5 gallon pails up and down the stairs twice a week (or more). My plan was to have a small resivior in the cabinet, which will feed the DIY
kalk reactor (HD canister/filter one) and then drip into the sump.
What I'm trying to do is avoid the possibility of a flood.
I used to dose kalk through a Kent float valve, but after about 4 months, it became stuck due to kalk residue.....causing a flood.
My first plan was to have the RO unit push the water up to the kalk reactor, and then just use a solnoid to dose when the
float switch said so.....only now I understand that leaving the water sitting in the RO/DI creates TDS creep.
What do you think the best plan of action is? A solnoid on the top-off resivior and a solnoid after?
