Calcium Reactor Choices?????

I am looking into getting a calcium reactor for my close to 300 gallon system...as my sps collection grows my dosing demands are just getting to be too much. I have heard really nice things about Korallin and Geo...any other brands I should check out during my search? I am going to be "over-buying" as I would like to find a product and stick with it, and I have an upgrade planned down the road a bit.

After running a few different ones, I like the Geo line. Very easy to set and maintain. Never ran a MRC, but I've ran PM, Deltec and Geo.

Geo's seem to have great reviews, any chance I could see some picture of how/where your reactors are setup?

I'll have to look at some old CDs... I sold it when I took my 450 down. on my 190 I just have a Geo kalk reactor.

It was really easy though, I just ran a small T off the skimmer pump, hooked to RO line with a valve, up to the reactor and then the output was dripped into the other end of the sump.

Getting the effluent from your reactor to go into your skimmer first will help prevent ph drops in the tank. I drip my reactors output right next to my skimmer pumps input. The high oxygen concentration in the skimmer will raise the ph before it gets dumped into the tank.

I'm using an Octopus reactor and it does the job. Not one of the easier ones to setup due to the lack of instructions or support.

You should try ASD (aquatic systems design) calcium reactors. They are unbelievable!

I like GEO reactors also, but recently purchased an ASD (Aquatic Systems Design) 6.18.1 and love it. It was actually easier to set up than the GEO of the same dimensions. Craftsmanship and quality are second to none. Instructions and tech support are also great.

I have a Geo618 on my 265g DT and so far so good here's a couple of pics of mine. They may be a bit dark as I keep it hidden in a corner but I took some pics of it's reflection in the mirror so if you see a double image that why

I love my korallin 3002 with eheim pump. I suggest having a controller for any reactor now. I used to run reactors by just a steady bubble count but after hooking the reactor to a ACJR I have seen a big difference. Try to find a reactor that has a probe holder.
