a bubble counter?????

Gday guys,

My LFS is a rip off for equipment so ive bought it all from overseas and therefore am only going to buy fish and rock off them and therefore can't really ask them the big questions on all my equipment so therefore i have turned to numerous books and articles and online references, although i have not found any on what goes inside the bubble counter connected to the regulator on a co2 bottle like the one below,

It doesnt seem to have any non-return valve so im worried if i put water in it it (which i think is the correct answer) it may travel back into the bottle.

Please help

i do not have a Ca reactor, but i think that the bubble counter is just filled with water so that you can count the bubbles, no water actually runs through it. the CO2 goes through the counter than to the reactor.

G~

Yep, just add water to the bubble counter. It shoudn't run back into the regulator due to the pressure and the solenoid.
