They dont have alot of flow in them anymore????/I have about 250 gallons of water to skim what should I do???? should I get 1 really good skimmer??? or are the ones I have good enough for my system??

Personally I think that with the volume of water you are wanting to skim, its false economy to use a couple mediocre skimmers. Better results you would get from a serious Beckett, or injector type skimmer. These boys aint cheap but they do remove serious amounts of waste, and thats the name of the game. Anything left in the water column has to break down and that leads to the nitrate/phosphate issues so common

I would look at the Precision Bullet3.

Mounted high above the sump, so it drains fast. Draining through 3" PVC at a 45degree angle so it gets no air locks.

Modified becket housing on a 12" PVC riser. Modified becket housing to take 1" hose all the way.

Fired on a Iwaki70.

MRC 2 or 3 w/ dual injectors www.myreefcreations.com

ASM G5 or G6

YES you are way underpowered on skimmer and way overfeeding your tank. Get a nice kick butt skimmer and you will be amazed at how much better your tank will look.

so the mrc 2 by itself would be better than 2 corlife 250's??? I have slowed down on feeding.....But I still have some algae on the overflows that I have to scrape off every 3 days....we are getting alot of coraline algae on the rocks just none on the tank walls....

Yes, a lot better, but for your tank get the dual injectors and the good pump.....not the MAG!

The Coralife SS are decent but no where near as powerul as these!

it looks like for 200 you can get the pump also....but I thought if I was gonna spend 700 it would be on a calcium reactor not a skimmer....my water is crystal clear and the 2 skimmers I have pick up pretty good...but thats the only skimmer I know.....so I should see a big difference for the money???

I'd give them a call to find out what would be best.....

Package 6 w/ additional injector...~$500 total includes awesome pump seems like the best way to go!

http://www.myreefcreations.com/pspackage.htm

some of the sponsors may have better deals than direct??? Never bought an MRC skimmer

Plus you can ebay your current skimmers for some extra $$.

You really shouldn't need a calcium reactor w/ the way you do WC's anyway! Plus with this skimmer you could cut back your WC's a little thus recouping your money on the skimmer inevitably!

Ok Im thinking of MRC 3 would anyone be interested in a set of coralife skimmers...rated for 220 gallons per skimmer......They have them on ebay for $169.00 how about $200.00 shipped for both!...Ill have to wait til my new one comes in to ship though!!! but thats a pretty good deal If you have a smaller tank and need some skimmers...

This will be a huge improvement!

Put them for sale in the classified section or on ebay. They should sell rather fast!
