Skimming question

Ok,
I have been reading the fourms and have seen several times the term skimming wet. I undestand the term but wondered how to fix this problem. I have a 24 gallon ap and have the aqua c remora with the stock pump on it, it works pretty well but the skim mate is almost like water with very little color to it. I don't know if this is because there is nothing really there to skim or if i need to change something. I took it off and cleaned the unit but this made it worse. When i first put it on the tank it collected a lot of junk but now, just water. What to do? Thanks

Well, I'd turn it down to skim less. I'm not familiar with this skimmer but just my recommendation. Sounds like it's too wet.

Ok thanks how do i turn it down??

Raise up the collecton cup up with the big o ring.Also with the cup out look down in the skimmer and their is a nylon screw.Take it out and use the pipe cleaner that came with it and clean the jet out,then put screw back.

Ok thanks, i wondered why it had a big o-ring on the cup! Duh. How Dumb can i be?
