Rio nano skimmer?

Well I'm looking to add one to my 5.5 nano. I was wondering if anyone has used this, and how it performed. How loud , as it is in our master bed room. It seems to be the perfect size for me, it will just clear the back of my canopy and just stick up over it about an inch. Also any one know a cheep place to get it? I have a local place for $39. and have seen it on line for around $34.+ shipping.

Thanks,
Brett

I think you are better off buying a bucket of salt and doing water changes I'm not impressed with the skimmer at all.

Wow that good huh?

Kinda sad I do about 4 water changes to 1 on my 120 reef. So things look good in the nano now I just want to keep it that way.

things look good in nano's till the sand bed fills up, which is usually in a bout a years time. those small protein skimmers do not move enough water to get enough of the organics out to make much of a difference. doing the water changes and getting the detritus out is your best bet for keeping looking its best long term.

better still!!

you have best ability to see if the skimmer is working. the less detritus you have in the tank the better the skimmer is working. some bits of detritus will not make it to the skimmer and will have to be siphoned. invert poo tends to not get in the water column very easily.
