Red sea prizm

I have a prizm pro that's been in my stand for about a year just set up a 40 breeder and tried to use the skimmer plugged it in & nothing Is this a common prob & if so do they even sale the pump I'm planning on getting a better skimmer but if I can get this going I'd like to use this one for now
