Non Skimmer tank experience

Hello TRT I'm new to this forum and I would like some advice.

Does anybody here have a reef tank running with no skimmer?
And how long have you gone with no skimmer.

Welcome to TRT!
I have a 24g nano cube that is skimmerless it has been set up for almost 2 years now.

I started my 95g tank skimmerless but after about 10 months did add a coralife super skimmer to the sump.

What kind of set up do you have?

Right now I have 55 bow with a sump, powerheads, LR, snails, hermits . Its been up and running for 1 month.

So tell me how did you feel about your 95 running without a skimmer. Why did you get a skimmer after 10 months?

You wil be fine running w/o a skimmer, just need to do more frequent WC's...like 10 gallons every two weeks!

IS there a specific reason you don't want a skimmer??

They have some great HOB skimmers now at great prices. These will make your SW experience a lot more enjoyable. Plus the cost wil pay for the salt in a little while!

I tend to over feed and was having some cyano issues and was getting lazy with water changes. I think if I'd kept up on the water changes it wouldn't have been so bad
