my first skimmer! and questions...

Hello all. I've just received my first skimmer and am left with a couple questions that I'm sure the answers are already posted but I couldn't find them.

I got the Octopus NW-200 and am wondering about water depth it should run in. I recall some discussions here about 8 to 9 inches, but can't remember if that was for another size skimmer. I'm also not certain how to adjust running depth other than a riser platform in the sump.

The other question I have is that it appears the pump has just a regular impeller, not a needle wheel. Are the neddle wheel impellers available for order by themselves somewhere?

8-9" is perfect! It should have the NW, if not I would get a hold of whoever you bought it from and have a chat Hopefully a postive one with empathy on the part of the dealer and an understanding that you got the wrong pump!

Thanks Hop! I'll give that a shot and if nothing comes of it I did find a place to order a replacement needlewheel.
