This is a very commen thing and most of them (80% or so) so that.

What you do is put a very small drop of super glue on one side of the housing and glue the center bit to it, this way it still comes apart, but the part in the middle is secured to one side of the housing.

I had to do this with my own. If you use the proper ammont of glue you can easly remove the center part if you ever have to.

Hmm, should I feel good that I didn't spend money on an MRC then?

I love mine pulls like crazy....Just a very small thing...I actually figured it out without knowing...The ball valve was a little loose causing it to hit the housing....It should be stationary...just a little super glue and now it works like new!!!

They don't make the becketts themselfs, there pond foamers that they buy from the company, so they have no quality control over that peice.

My MRC is the best skimmer I have ever used.
