This is a good alternative to the ASM skimmer. Iwould recommend the 220 model

does it need to be a hang on, or could it be a sump model?

One vote against the Remora. Noisy and hard to dial in for me.

I'm happy with my corallife 65 on my 55g.....in hindsight I should have gotten the larger skimmer, but I thought the 65 would fit in my sump. I use it as a HOT skimmer and it works great, but again take the advice of getting the biggest possible.

They can be a little tricky to get dialed in at first, but with some patience and asking advice you'll get it skimming some great skimmate in no time. There are of course much better skimmers on the market, but for that price it will be very hard to beat.
