Koralia 4 too much for a 30?

local guy is sellign K4s for 30 bucks, I had planned on getting a K3 soon, I wonder if the K4 would be too big and bulky or provide too much flow for a tank that is LPS/softie

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Well... I have 2 maxi modded K4s and 2 tunze 6100s in a 40 cube... I would say a K4 is not enough.

I would say that it is about right for a 30

But that is all depending on what you intend to keep in the 30

There is already a K2 in there and I need a better ph to replace my ancient Hagen 402 which basically blows across the top away from any corals since it is such a concentrated stream of water. I was planning on replacing the 402 w/ a K3 which is the same size outside as the K2.

I want to eliminate the cluttered look in the tank somewhat. I think I am going to mod a MJ400 someone gave me to put behind the rocks and if m return pump ever comes in that will add a bit of flow. Once the 2 ph driving my skimmer are in the sump it may not look so crowded. With a lagoonal setup and I don't want to overdo the flow either

Really, a K4 is pretty good stock but is is quite large. If your going to have a sandbed in there and it is a 30 long and your going lagoonal I would look for a smaller PH. Like a tunze 6055.

I really like the K3's better because of the size. I haven't found that much difference in the flow vs. the K4, in spite of the ratings, and the K3 is just a better fit.

I picked up a K4 for 30 bucks, runs very well. THe difference in flow after replacing the old Hagen is substantial. I will see how my critters react. THis may require some movement if it is too much flow for some softies. I do feel like less detritus is going to settle now.
