cleaning standpipe and overflow

Ok I have no aptasia in my tank
I guess my Kalk mix and pepperment shrimp has done the job.
But now they are all in my overflow.
Man I never thought aptasia could get so big!!!
It look like a little anemonie
Anyway they cover my stand pipe and evey thing.
Well short of draining my tank (I have one overflow hole 3/4 of the way down where i stuck a max-jet) What is the best way to proceed.
what is the best way to clean.
I have a deep tank its 26 inches deep
Any help or advice would be helpfull.

I'd just leave them.. you'll never kill them all. and they actually filter out of the water column. I read about them being used as a filter before. keep the peppermints in the tank to catch the small ones and you'll be fine. I haven't had an aptasia in years.... go peppermints!!!

Personally I get a little grossed out when my overflows get filthy. Not a cure for the aptasia, but I put a couple of snails in there and they clean it up. Sometimes they find their own way in the overflow.

apistsia will help filter water flowing down the overflow. they might even help keep the overflow itself clean by snatching up anything that goes buy them. just get shrimp for main display
