Update: T5 Lighting Set Up

OK, so about a month ago I got my Current USA T5 Nova Extreme Fixture, thats 24" 4x24w. Well, initially I said I liked it, it seemed better and what not. Well after letting my tank adapt to it, and giving it amonth to do its job, it works GREAT. I mean it may not be as great as MH, but for half the price, and Id imagine 1/5 of the heat it puts out, its terriffic. Ive had my tank under PCs for a good 4 months or so, and none of my Xenias ever split. They would grow a little longer, but not wide. Well, my Xenias are growing like crazy, which definitely isnt a rare thing, but its not what my PCs would make my tank do. I also fragged my leather about 2 weeks ago. The little frag was only a ruffle of my leather, and it was about half and inch by one inch, well now its a good one inch, by three inches. Everything just looks really really nice. My fluffy green and pinkish mushrooms are huge, tthe medium sized ones have turned into the huge ones.

I know people always ask for experience with T5s, so heres my experience. Id recommend them to anyone who either doesnt have the cash for the MH, or who lives in a smaller place (Like my smaller apartment) and doesnt want to put up with the heat!

they seem to be a great alternateive to MH's if you tank is less than 24" deep.

We have them over 20 tanks. While they are not perfect for all situations they are great in most! Thanks for your experience
