T5 ballast wiring Q

I just got a replacement ballast for my T5 lighting. While I've wired up t5 ballasts before, the schematic for this one reads a little bit different (this isn't the actual diagram, just a very similar one I grabbed online):

The circled part means that it doesn't matter which slot tubes 1 and 2 are connected (yellow wire), just so long as they are connected by one wire with one wire on each tube going from the other slot on the tube to the ballast?

I hope this question makes sense.... I'm no electrician but I have managed to decipher some electrical schematics for things I've tinkered with. The other ballast I've wired had the two inside slots for the tubes wired together with the outside slots going to the ballast...

Yeah,... that's the same way mine is,.. One yellow wire jumps from one end of tube one, to one end of tube two, then a second yellow wire jumps from the same end, other pin of tube one, then the same side, other pin of tube two.

Those two yellow wires are not connected together anywhere though,..

Thanks for the replies! I didn't get to wire it up since the ballast doesn't even fit in the hood

That's too bad Can you mount it outside the hood? Might be better for cooling

I could.... It would just look really, idunno, odd with the design of the current fixture.... And I don't want to make a canopy right now especially since it's such a small tank and a bowfront. So, I'm just going to invest in a new fixture. I'm soliciting for advice in this thread
