Photoperiod

My tank is a 56 gal column which measures 30 x 18 x 24 high I have two 55w pc actinics which may soon change to two 75 w vhos and 1 250 xm10k se metal halide, My question is how long should i keep each on ideally. Right now I don't have much in there just some zoa's and mushrooms, but I'm going to soon be adding some various lps and some sps like monti's maybe a cat's paw etc. any advice would certainly be appreciated.

I agree, and as needed you can adjust the MH time depending on how the critters react. When you add a MH you may want to start off with a short amount of time and work it into a longer period.
