PC bulbs

Hello! I have been looking for a good deal on replacement PC bulbs for my aqualight 65 watt. As everyone knows, these bulbs get expensive and I have been trying to find a way to save on make next replacement. Does this seem like a good choice? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I believe these are odessya knock offs. Is it important to get name brand bulbs? Or are the PC bulbs pretty much the same for the wattage? I know what you pay is what you get, sometimes its still better to buy off brand. Also, this describes the daylight bulbs as 12000K. Is that a good spectrum for coarls? I have xoas, shrooms, polyps and just starting LPS. I have heard that 6700K and 10000K really do not make a difference in spectrum. But what about 12000K? Never heard of that spectrum.

One last question . When replacing bulbs, can you do both at the same time? I have heard you should do one at a time so as not to shock the system. Thanks again for the help/suggestions.

indeed it is important to get the name brand bulbs. Remember that the lighting is simply the single most important item in your tank. Going cheap on the bulbs is really a bad choice. The problem with cheap bulbs is failure and incorrect spectrum and color shift..

alot of times the name brand bulbs are made in the same factory as the off brand bulbs so its your choices some times the off brands are just as good other times not

Ive actually seen some good prices for coralife and current at drsfoster and smith and also marinedepot. But whats the 12000K spectrum? Is it close to the 10000K or is there a big difference?

I have been looking at some T5's HO per the great suggestions here, but I am a little unsure about needed wattage. Of course bigger is better, but I don't plan on keeping SPS due to the care level and my noobness. Maybe down the road. What type of wattage do you recommend for at the most, LPS? I commonly see the 2x 24 watt. I would think that is not good enough, but maybe high output makes it stronger? I don't know.
