need help choosing lights....

right now i am looking at the nove extreme T-5 fixtures with lunar lights 432 watts,on www.drsfostersmith.com for $399.00,what do you think about this product?i really can't spend much more money then this and this is also my 1st saltwater tank.metal halides will come later when i have more money and experience. looking to grow polyps,zoo's and shrooms.oh it is a 55 gallon tank. is this too many watts?

It is really hard to get too much lighting. You'll need to keep an eye on how warm your water gets with the added light/heat. Be sure it is well ventilated. But your corals will love it! I am running 830watts on a 120gal. was at 940watts but got to hot and wasn't ready to invest in a chiller yet so I had to remove a bulb in the set up. Enjoy!
