MH light bulbs

hey, if i touch the bulb part will it explode when turned on?

Touching the bulb will not affect the it; besides blocking a miniscule amount of light since oil is depositied from our skin.

I actually run my bulb (not the base) under the faucet to clean off any salt spray then wipe it off with a towel, of course I only do this when the bulb is cold.
