What do you mean by "good lux"? I shoot for no less than 4,000 Lux at the bottom of my low light tanks, and no less than 10,000 Lux in my SPS tank anywhere, the top of my SPS tank gets over 27,000 in places.
I say 300 is perty low, way too low for any corals for sure.
HTH,
Whiskey

First, what kind of bulbs are these?
How are you getting these readings?
If you are talking 810 Lux at tank bottom, then yes it's far too low for anything but a fish only tank. If you are saying 810 lux across the room, then maybe not.

i have been able to keep a leather coral alive and healthy for about 3 months now. A hammer head coral for about 1.3 months. Plus 4 fish and a pincushin urchin. A ricordia and some polyups That are older than the leather. The polups are going crazy, they shrink and 2 more pop up then they get big and do it all over. the ricordia just seems to grow in a coin shape. He eats just about any thing i put on him.
I dont have a pic of the bulb set up yet. Just the ballast cooling. Their not in the tank thats foil to refect the light back down, it makes a BIG diffrence. I find that if I wrinkle it it scatters the colors better. The daylights are on the fron and back of the tank. Tha actinic is in the center. They sit behind plexi glass about an inch and a quarter off the surface. (at lowest water level)

How are these readings taken? Under what conditions?
I ask this because I had 4, 40W, T12 bulbs above a 50G planted tank, and I got a heck of allot more than 810 Lux at tank bottom.

I dont have a meter. The tank is 1 foot deep without substrate, but depending on area the substrate is about an inch thick. I use live rock to adjust the hights depending on lighting demands.

I don't think you have very much light at all, but I think you have allot more then 810 Lux, just based on my experiance with NO bulbs.
