Lights for 150 gallon

Hey anyone know my best lighting coice for a tank that is 72"widex18"deepx30"tall? I was thinking about going with 3 250watt metal halides. Do you guys think that would be enough?

nope, 3 -400w's. you will need one MH for every 2' of tank length. the more sand you have in the tank the higher the wattage also. if it were a BB tank you could prolly get away with 3-250's.

The price tag just keeps going up. Im working on the tank now, and I pick up sand and filtration this weekend. I plan on going fish only for a few months while I find lights and live rock so if anyone knows where I can find a good deal on those 3 400 watt setups please let me know. Do you think pendandt lights at 400 watts will work?

if you are good a DIY. building the canopy then adding MH's as retro kits can save you quite a bit of money.
