Lighting system for my new tank, please help

I am constructing a new tank it is 55 galons, and the dimensons are 48 inches long, 18 inches wide and 24 inches deep, My question is someone i know has this set up that they are willing to sell me for 250.00.

dual 250watt halide w/ a dual VHO ballast (180 each) and w/ all bulbs. coralvue halides 14k & uri super atinics.

Question is is I know this is a great deal however is it a good solution for my tank?? I am planning on have some corals after a while, and maybe a few fish but not much.

Thanks
Josh

Are you sure about the tank size you listed? The dimensions you posted work out to be a 90 gallon tank not a 55. If you truly have a standard 55 gallon tank the width is only 13 inches. It is hard to fit some lighting systems over that narrow of a tank.
