how deep is the tank? that should be pretty good. the reason it may not seem as bright is because 20K do not have the same PAR output as say a 10k or 6.5K.
most people do the opposite light setup. the MH's either 10K or even 15K's (sounds like you prefer the blue look) and the flourescent being an actinic. using an XM brand bulb will bring more light to the tank per K of frequency.
as long as the tank is less than 18" deep 175w MH should be fine for keep most all corals.
