Help deciding on fixture

Both the ballast in my cad 5g are either gone or going. I ordered replacement ballasts, but as small as they are they still don't fit. So, I'm probably just going to get a new fixture.
Here are the two options I'm looking at:

1- Current USA Satellite Dual 2x18 Watt 12"Power Compact Strip Light W/Lunar Light

OR
2-New cadlights light fixture which is a T5NO 4x6w.

I'm looking to keep mainly LPS, Zoas and softies in this tank so would the current fixture be overkill?

No,.. I don't think that the Current fixture would be over-kill at all, and seeing as how you've already had problems with your other option I would probably go with the Current option.

Does it have fans BTW? If not is there one that will fit your tank that does? It extends bulb life quite a bit in a PC fixture to have the bulbs cooled - because of the design of these bulbs the hottest part of the bulb is right next to each other causing them to get quite hot and burn out/loose output quickly.

Though there is an advantage of most T5 lamps on output, I think the PC option will be brighter here because your T5 option is Normal Output (Not high output), and the reflectors are not good ones.

I agree with Wiskey, go with the Current fixture.

Great! Thanks for the input I'm going with the current cf fixture then.

Wiskey-The 12" fixture is the only one that doesn't have a fan. With that being said, I think I'll check into modding it.
