Eclipse 6

20" SunPaq Retrofit Kit 1 x 40 Watt 460/10K

Will this lighting fixture fit on my eclipse system 6, if not what lighting fixture should I use? Also, will it sustain coral life?

Dimensions: The length of the tank in the front is 16" and at the back it is 13.25", the width of the tank is 9" and the height of the tank in the front is 14" and in the back it is 15".

I have not set it up yet, but I am getting "premium" live rock, which has some coral growth and other stuff on it. I am just wondering if I need better than stock lighting to keep the stuff alive.

The stock lighting is one 9w bulb, no reflector. I actually ran an Eclipse 6 for almost 3 yrs and kept a frogspawn and some mushrooms alive, but they really didn't thrive, they just survived. You really need to look at that hood before you get a retro kit, there isn't much space. Also, because of the design it gets very wet under the entire hood, so whatever you do has to be water tight. I couldn't find a good retro kit, so i finally ended up just getting a regular 10gl tank and a Nova Extreme T5 2 x 18w light.
