Deep tank lighting

Hi,

I have a 44 gallon corner pentagon tank. It is 2 feet deep. I currently have to 96 watt coralife lamp fixtures on my tank that sit on top of a fiberglass top. This lighting has supported a torch, brain and zoanthid. I would like to upgrade, but the the dimensions of my tank make it extremely difficult to use lighting with legs. I was wondering how a Coralifes's 150 watt MH 14k clamp on fixture would do in my tank. Does anyone have any ideas or does anyone have tank like this.

Thanks,

Trea

You probably want to think about going with a 250 Watt pendant on a 24" tank.

Thanks,

I guess that's the word. I am going to do some pretty creative construction in the corner where that tank is.

For a tank that is more deep than wide, I think a MH pendant would be the way to go.

Take a look at these:

Coralife Aqualight Professional HQI Pendant

CurrentUSA Outer Orbit 150w DE Pendant

AquaMedic 250 DE Ocean Light Pendant

Michael

if you do not want to keep the high light stuff, i really like the icecap spot pendant... if you want more spread you can get the flood lamps and lower it, or for more pinpoint you can get the spot bulbs and raise it up a bit more. if you really want to keep more, or hope to in the future, i would look at one of the myriad of 250 watt pendants, which have the benefit on some models of carrying 13 watt pc's for dawn/dusk or moonlight conditions.

it all comes down to the animals thogh.

Geoff, I would pretty much keep any coral that would thrive under that lighting. Maybe some of those Acros and a clam.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. It seems like 250 MH pendants are the favorites.
