Current USA SunPod MH, 150 Watt HQI


I have a 48" unit with 2 150w bulbs. I replaced bulbs about a month ago. Everything seemed fine after I changed the bulbs, but recently I noticed that one side of the tank is much brighter than the other (and, one bulb is brighter than the other).

What's wrong?

I just swapped the bulbs, the same side that wasn't as bright, hummed, flickered, then the bulb went out.

Now what?

How old is the fixture ? maybe it's under warranty?

This morning neither light will turn on! Grrr....

I got the light from F&S. They are supposed to check and see if they can do anything. If they can't, would I be better off to just get a whole new light setup? I've liked this light, it is simple, and clutter free, which is great since my tank is only a 55 gallon setup. I need the MH's for the anemones.

The manual says:

SunPod 1061, 1062, 1063, 1064, 1064, 1066

Have no idea where to find the model number on the unit.


I opened it up this morning to see if I could see a bad connection. It still didn't want to light up. Then I switched one of the bulbs back to an old bulb and both bulbs seem to work. Bad bulb? Loose connection? Temporary fix that will be bad again next week???
