Current lighting?

Does anyone know about these systems im looking at one for my 72 bf. Its got the 2 150w mh bulbs and the compacts. Can the 150s be upgraded to a 250 or would the ballast need to be changed also?

The ballast and socket would also need to be changed, along with the bulb,.. basically it would cost a fortune. I would get a fixture that has what you need right off,.. it is really hard to change a fixture around.

The fixtures are OK but don't pack much light. A lot of people would consider the 150 watt bulbs to be underpowered for a tank of that depth. If you plan on keeping fish only, or have soft corals, then 150 watt bulbs will likely be OK, but you might be happier in the long run with 250 watt bulbs instead (in case you decide to keep higher light demanding corals or clams).
