Actinic Blues

I read on a couple threads that actinics are for us to enjoy the corals and they have no value? This is not from me but just something I read. If this is the case is there a reason to change them as we do our other bulbs? I mean if they are still putting out the blue color we want why change them?

Atinics still put out useable light,.. in fact that is why I always reccomend the "Atinic Blue" lamps over the "atinic 03" lamps,.. the "Atinic blue" put off nearly double the useable light that the "Atinic 03" lamps do.

The other thing is that atinic's in my experiance after about 2 years or so seem to turn green lol.

On my 180, I have 3*250W MH and 3*55W Atinic Blue,.. in this tank I don't worry about replacing the Atinics regularly because most of my light comes from the XM10kK MH,.. but if I was using all PC lamps I would worry about it, because about 40% of my coral's useable light would be coming from the Atinic Blue lamps.
