Current tanks and future dreams
I'd thought I'd kick this off by asking each of us to decribe our current systems and share in plans for future ones as well.
I have a Oceanic 70T/RR with stand I purchased while I was down in Houston for school. It's lit with a 150w MH x 2-65w PC actinic pendant. Not quite sure about the size of the return pump but I believe it is rated for 1200 GPH and with head loss I figure I am getting 1000GPH to the tank. I return to a SCWD and have DIY eductors on my outlets. I have a modified counter current skimer wich I turned into a recirculating skimmer that pulls 2-2.5 cups of coffee colored skimmate a day. I have a phosban reactor wich currently hold my activated carbon. Water is topped of via a DIY topoff/kalk reactor. The sump is a DIY made from a 10g. If I can ever find a 20L I'll change it out. There is about 90# of LR and a 3" sandbed.
Livestock:
5 Green Chromis
1 Ocelaris(sp?) clown
1 Yellow Tang
1 Firefish
1 Black/Blue Damsel
3 Peppermint shrimp
1 Fighting Conch
and various snails and hermits
Coral:
2 Toadstool leathers
1 Cabbage leather
1 Galaxia
1 Fungia
GSP's out the ying yang
Orange & Green skirt Zoos
Button polyps
Hairy mushrooms
Green Stripe and Blue srtipe shrooms
Purple Gorgonian, I think it's a Sea Blade
1 Open Brain
Purple encruting Monti who isn't happy
I think I described my current project. The Monti will go in the new tank when it's up and running.

I have a wally world 55g with a 4 x 65w canopy and a Remora Pro with a Mag 3.
There is 80 lbs of rock, a brittle star and three little fish and lots of critters.
My tank wiped moving up from SoCal when my rental truck had no AC and it was 125 degrees in the cab through Vegas last year then I lived on a mountain so just getting it going again.
I am thinking 180ish now and moving this tank to my GF's and will put some softies in there.

Well as of wednsday I will have an Ocien front 130 Gallon Bowfront from 4fishtank.com. Overall dimension: 49"L x 22"W x 30"H, on a 32" tall cabinet, 10" canopy. Filtration will be provided by an AquaVim Eco-Smart Sump combo/Protein skimmer from same place27 1/2"L x 16"W x 19"H, however the bio ball will be omitted and I will add 10# of sump mud, live rock and Caulerpa. Pump stated at 930gph. Lighting will be 878w (2x400w MH + 2x39w T5. Plan on adding a Moon light in there somewhere.
100# Live Rock and 40 or so of base rock.
160# CaribSea Aragonite with 10# live sand seed.
Coralife Salt
More patience than I can muster.
And time will tell me who and what will live in there.
Hope to set up an auto topoff and a kalk reactor.
Future plans?? If I can learn enough to make this tank a happy home, the next sep will be an inwall in our livingroom. Somewhere in the neiborhood of 400 gallon with a dedicated room for equipment.
hmmm need to figure out how to get rid of these durn kids.. lol.

Right now I've got a 20g FOWLR with DSB and about 18lbs of LR a hand full of snails a couple crabs, a pair of perc clowns, and more feather dusters than i care to count. But saturday i finished the plumbing on my 75 AGA and am now circualting water the tank has already cycled ( so no more diatoms thank god) I"ve got a DIY weir style overflow a Euro Reef CS80 and a Mag7 on the return. The only problem is, is the overflow isnt keeping up with the return so the Mag is throttled back considerably with a ball valve. I'm also in the market for a sump, right now i'm doin the rubbermade thing and I'm not overly impressed. Oh yeah forgot to mention i'm goin bare bottom with the 75!

Right now I just have my good ol' 20 gallon -- here is my build thread for it -- and my 10g dirty tank.
I am currently curing rock for a 30g hex to have as an unlit/dirty tank. Tied into that system will be either a 40 or 75g tridacnid clam growout tank.
I'm also really considering setting up either a 90 or 120 reef within the next year.

right now i have a 10g, with an accidental seahorse... the 10 was for slowly curing rock to seed an eventual 110g semi-agressive tank... but now... i might just stay happy with something smaller.. i keep washing back and forth on this one...

The climates are sort of similar. C'mon in here 'Bear anytime if you need advice on snow tires or good winter stew recipes and stuff like that.
