My 2 cents ...
I'm from Canada and have lived in Florida now for 5 yrs ...
1) Grits are just nasty no matter what you put on them ... even good old Canadian Maple Syrup.
2) Biscuits with gravy are good, depending on who makes the biscuits and the gravy. So far I only approve of my own or Cracker Barrel's.
3) Hickory switches still work in the 21st century, even without any high tech improvements.  They are especially effective in getting a 3 yr old's attention when whacked on the kitchen counter. The noise alone brings her into line.

Corn,,,, but not as good. It takes a lot of salt, butter, and sometimes cheese to make them edible. And I've lived in the south all my life.

Grape Nuts in milk and nuked for a minute so is great
Grits aint bad but i draw the line at hominy and okra, tho I did eat both with gusta aft JWS in Panama
