X-mas puppies!!!

Well, I went to get one puppy and ended up getting 2! My 3 kids finally wore them out so they had to take a little nap. The first one is a lab/rot mix, a female named River. The second(the brown one) is a sheppard and we think lab and/or boxer, a boy named Stubs.

Here is River...

Ok, the first night went pretty well, only had 2 accidents and we didn't have to clean under the table after the kids ate!!

The wife through a fit so there has been a name change. The lab/rot mix, River, has no tail but the other dog is named Stubs. She didn't like that so I had to come up with another. Well, 'my' dog was playing fetch with one of my many golf balls laying around, just having a great time, so his new name is Bogey!

What have other people named their pets and how did you come up with that name?? This ought to have some interesting stories!!

My Dad had a Basset Hound named Bogey...the whole litter had movie star names, Bogey's sister was Lauren Bacall.

I have a Pembroke Corgi named Hugo. We looked through an encyclopdia and ran across Victor Hugo - the name just seemed to fit. Our other dog is named Thurber, after the author James Thurber who wrote a wonderful essay on how to name a dog!

Currently we have a cat named Pepper, because, well, he's black, white and gray. We have a rat named Stuart (Little) and a Maroon clownfish named Spike, aka Moron...if you have a Maroon, you understand the name

When I was a kid I had a shepard/collie mixed named "Fearless." She was afraid of the dark when she was a pup

Ah pet names. My family always got carried away (hence, Sergio Alfredo Martini O'Buckey Christiano the parrot, and Sigfried Horatio Fignatious Puffinstuff Christiano the budgie.)

Our German Shepard is Nikolai (sorta the name he came with, but misspelled originally, so we fixed it.)

Our big black cat is Ion *yes, I'm a science nerd*, but the orange littler cat is Ginger. (Husband said no to "Ann" even though it'd fit with Ion.)

Danielle

PS. I love your puppies!

Great now I want a puppy too....

I've got a 90 lb husky/dingo/akita mix whom I love to pieces and have had her for almost 8 years since she was itty-bitty and we have 2 cats, age 14 and 1, so I have a full house, but I'd love a SMALL companion dog to ride around in the truck with me. My big dog loves the truck but she's so HUGE....she's scary looking too people who come into the shop don't know what to make of her if she's there with me.

*sigh* Santa hates more animals so I doubt that another one is in my future.

I did see some adorable parrot-lets too, very tiny parrots, very cute...
