Wow what a wife!

Came home last night and the wife had a box here for me to open

and inside was Hey Dude laptop,I almost hit the floor. The reason she bought it was she saw how sad i looked when we walked out of BestBuy after i spend the whole time in there looking at puters. Here's some of the specs, i still can't believe it 1.7cpu, 256ram,30gig drive,15"screen,nvidia_vidio and a DVD drive could of used a burner but man I'm blown away. This thing is great but is hard to use a laptop touch pad ,I guess it's something you get used to.Just thought I'd share it with you guys,I'm tickled.

Nice Lappy there

I prefer Toshiba Laptops myself.

Thing about laptops is what they sell at local stores is more "Multimedia" Home oriented, rather then practical..

Some of the Better (IMO) Laptops are Toshiba Tecras, but you can only get their Home versions-the Satellite, which weigh like 1-2lbs more.

I'm with you I can't stand those Touchpads... I prefer the Eraser Heads.. hehe... just get yourself a good USB optical mouse.. (amazon.com has Microsoft Optical for 15 bucks.. not bad deal)

Hey Congratulations!
Once you get used to the touch pad, you'll like it way better than the little stick thing.
I attach a mouse and use 'em the old-fashioned way most of the time.

nice!!!!

Just wondering, why NVidia and not ATI?

Also you can get a USB burner and have the best of both worlds... I actually like the Sony just because they are one of the few that supports 1394 for my camcorder connection.. Okay I have Sony camcorders too.

I just got a bad taste for ATI years ago when i bought a video board for a computer I was building, and when I went to thier site for drivers to get it to run right ,you wouldn't believe the people that were also having problems .So I had to drive 50 miles back to exchange for the voodoo which cost more but I knew they were great boards,I was sorry to see nvidia take over but they rock in the gaming world,xbox,Gforce4,etc.

Nvidia has really helped the industry by not only doing a two release a year plan, but also making the drivers Uniform across the board.

There is no headache when getting NVidia Drivers.

When the GF2 Was released, and the GForce was 1 yr old, the drivers they released with the GF2 worked with the GF1 and even gave a 10-20% proformance increase because of the drivers.

ATI has a BAd track record of not really updating old drivers, but with the DX9 Cards, I've heard they are moving to a Uniform Driver system much like NVidia, but we will see what happens..

And Right now, ATI is king on the High end stuff with their newly released 9700PRO Video cards, but 400 bucks is a skimmer, pump, and misc stuff for my upcomming tank soooo.. I didn't get it.

hehe
