I played around with Vista at lunchtime at the store. As usual, looks like I just have to switch everything back to classic view so it's not all scrambled around. Has some neat looks to it but I didn't have time to go in depth.

I would be leary of buying into a new OS, esp if your puter came with the set of restore disks rather than the actual XP OS install disk
Then again we all know I hate MS

How do you like it so far Casey? Any big differences (in terms of productivity)?
I'm planning on the Ultimate Edition when I do finally upgrade.

yea it seems to be more stable than Xp even though xp was fairly stable,I cant print yet no driver or Dell has it messed up or something,I also need other drivers for several hardware issues I have but overall it works pretty good,it is way more shiny than xp if you like that kinda stuff.I dont care for media player 11 I think 10 was better,I might use realplayer or something like that for my music.

This is all you need to see to know that it is a standard windows release

I have been told by someone that just got it that you should do it as a full reformat and install - not an upgrade. It wont import favorites and a few other lovely things.
Like I said - standard windows release - doesnt work fully yet so you get to figure out all the bugs.

I just "got" a copy of ultimate.
At first I'm not really liking it too much; too user friendly. I'm sure it will grow on me as XP did tho.
I have to admit the interface is pretty nice. A lot like OSX with a bit of linux look and security thrown in.

Why did cleaning the screen make a difference? Do you work for Microsoft or something?
So it actually didnt SAY Aunt when he asked for Mom? The screen was dirty and the dust actually made the word MOM look like AUNT?
