I agree with Doug. I am not lawyer happy but this is one time that somebody way up higher than the people in the truck would hear a LOT about. What would have happend if you hadn't been at home and it shorted out and burned the house down?

ill probably give the company a call on tuesday. more than likely they will do nothing since the work was done 8 months ago. but at the very least i can "express my frustrations" with them. and yeah it could have been a heck of a lot more than what it was. and so you guys know for future reference the company that did the electrical was mr. electric, so dont ever call those guys. i realize they may not be responsible for the technician, but they are definitely liable for him. they should have standards and be aware of their employees.

If they hired a sub-contractor that did faulty work by placing a 30A breaker where it should have been a 60A breaker, they are just as negligent and liable as the sub contractor is. I wouldn't give them an option, tell them what you want done to correct the sub standard work and get your house back up and running safely.

well its the way it should be now. i think i am going to call the electric company and have them come out and inspect EVERYTHING and write a letter or whatever to confirm that eveything is tip top so if i have problems in the future i have something to fall back on.
