Who would win in a fight?
okay, who would win in a fight, a bear or a tiger? I mean think about it, a Grizzly bear can weigh up to 1000 pounds, and a tiger can be a shade under that. The Bear is big and strong with claws and teeth, the tiger is big and not as strong but with sharper teeth and claws. And when the bear is in a fight, it goes like "aahhhghhhhghghghrrrwwww". And when the tiger is in a fight, it is like "grooooagghhhrrrraaaaughrrrrrrrrr". Who would win? No really....Who...would...win?

My money is on the tiger - it can stalk, pounce then it will grab the bear by the neck and snap it.

My money would be on the Grizz. They can take a 300 H&H mag to the head and walk away. Its alot harder to kill a bear I think, just by the structure of the animal.

I saw a show once where a not-fully-grown tiger was swimming -- not walking on the bottom of a lake but swimming -- and holding a gazelle up out of the water just with it's mouth.
My money is on the Tiger.

Depends on who gets the upper hand first, Both animals are big, powerful and efficient, the cat is more of an ambush hunter, bear bear is more confrontational . I dont think either has a clear advantage, its all about opportunity

Well, since I was a boyscout, I have a deep fear of Bears. Seriously, the only things in this world I am really afraid of are Great White Sharks and Grizzly Bears.

This could go either way I think if the Tiger got the suprise element.
I was supposed to go hiking with some people in bear country but they would not let me bring a sidearm. If a bear attacks that whistle is going to do a lot of good.

They say if a bear goes for you to play dead and it will leave you alone... but somehow I don't believe it.
A tiger wouldn't be fooled.

That depends on the kind of bear, how hungry they are, and how good an 'actor' you are! While I was in Yellowstone this Summer, a park employee was out for an afternoon hike, stopped to rest and was attacked by two Grizzlies! He was very badly chewed/clawed up but curled up in a ball and played dead. The bears left and he survived.
Don't do that with the Black Bears, according to my ranger friend in the Smokies!! A teacher out hiking alone in the Smokies a few years ago was killed and partially eaten!
In a head to head between Tiger and Bear, I think it would be a toss-up but the edge might be to the Tiger for quickness but the Bear for brute strength.

Tiny to the tiger size mountain lions out here have been eating up hikers and bikers. Those kitties are smart.

a grizzly bear would easily win if it ever had to fight a tiger, just ask the sabretooth tiger... oh sorry, i forgot, the bears ate them a long time ago.
