8. Three headphone sets (all of which sound like crud)

10. dog-eared Unfinished Tales by J.R.R.Tolkien
11. Tray full of cards ---all phone numbers of places to order food from

well my wife has just completed a hostile take over of the desk so its mostly her pampered chef catalogs etc.. the rest of the area is covered with "post its"

Well, since I am at work, I'll give my work desk from left to right:

-folders from a recent leadership symposium......boring
-an overdue stack of employee appraisals......****!
-my inbox, currently empty which indicates my philosophy of "happiness is an empty in-box"
-a stack of WIP (work in progress) reports that I retain for 30 days
-an "Amazing But True Golf Facts" calendar
-my monitor on stand, with post-its and other notes all over it and speakers on each side
-picture of my wife with a stack of business cards under it
-empty bowl of almonds
-mouse pad in the shape of a putting surface
-coffee cup (greatly stained as all good coffee cups should be)
-various phone books/listings
-radio
-printer
-phone
-more, largely un-used in-boxes
-a plant given to me from my employees

The rest of my office is couches and chairs and cabinets and windows! One door. Kinda boring, but such is my professional life!!!
