What would you do?
I moved here to relax and have a dilemma.
We left our old restaurant up on the mountain after the new owner turned out to be an (insert whatever the chat filter would turn into gibberish here).
Three times I tried to collect my last check and returned with my note from Christy to get her check, clean aprons, and returned in a slack period. We still have yet to collect.
This is all over not a lot of money.
Are paybacks in order? Sorry if this is ugly which is why I posted it in this forum, but it is hard to suck this up.
My choices are to either go to the labor board, blow it off, let folks on the mountain know he is a weiner and run him out of business the slow painful way or kick his ass.
Hrmm...what to do, what to do

Got it!
I went in at lunchtime and asked for my final paycheck at lunch. They said they were busy and I mentioned a bit loudly that this was my fourth attempt and that I would not try again.
Once a few of the locals noticed and looked over he coughed them right up.
Man I hate this petty stuff. Small towns have their good points but with stuff like this that help wanted sign is going to gall to the window.

By the name of the thread, I thought maybe you were going to talk about the country song in Team America.
Sorry, couldn't resist, but I would opt for kicking his behind.

Talk to a labor attorney first before you do anything, it won't cost anything to talk, and if you have an actionable issue, the atty will most likely take it on for a portion of the proceeds.
As I am not an attorny*, I'd defer to Dick or one of our many sharks on the site for more details...
The best revenge is living well.
* ...but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night...

I agree do it the right way,but add the att. fees on to it.If you take it in your own hands and it back fires. You mite be out of your other job also.Maybe different if you were moving.
