What are you going to be for Halloween?
So, the costume holiday is breathing down our necks at this point. What's everybody going as this year? I haven't quite decided on mine yet. I was the Heat Miser (The Year Without A Santa Claus) last year and am considering going as his brother this year.
What do you all have in mind? Any big plans? Party at my house November 1st!

We're having a costume contest at work, so I'd love to hear some creative ideas!
I'm trying to think of something "cheap" but clever. So far tops on my list is going as a scarecrow. That would be easy to put together.
Another clever costume is to attach small boxes of cereal to a jacket and put plastic knives in the boxes of cereal......the costume?... serial killer. But given the recent sniper attacks, i think i'll pass on this one.
Send those clever ideas in...I wanna win!

i'm going to salem, massachusettes for haloween with a large group of friends...
after much pondering about this & that, i have decided:
i am dressing up as trailer trash.
i shall crimp my hair, wear awful ill-fitting clothes, and chain smoke ciggs & yell alot.
maybe a few cuts & scrapes & bruises too...it'll be like an episode of COPS....

LOL Ann Marie; sounds like my costume from last year. I went as Martha Stewart's long lost sister, Mabel. Trailer Trash from Oklahoma with 'tude and boxed cake mixes
Scarecrow is good Brooke! I've used that one a lot. If you can stand the itching of a burlap bag, lol, you can use theatrical "putty" to kind of bond the bag to your face and if you use a make-up color similar to the bag it's hard to tell where your skin ends and the bag begins. It's hot and itchy though...best worn when you can drink shots to forget the discomfort
Tom Wyatt came up with a good costume idea for couples; one person cover themselves in balloons and go as an anemone, the other go as a clownfish, LOL!
Sting mops make great wigs-sew two together at the seams, cut some "bangs" and then dye them whatever color you need.
Since you work at a travel agency, maybe something related to that?

Funny you mention the anemone Alice, that's one of the ideas I'm tossing around this year. I've got a bag of those long clown balloons that are all green. I can't imagine the headache associated with blowing up 150 - 200 of those, though .

I was thinking I might go as the Grim reaper this year. Shave my head bald, white make-up for my face, get a black hooded cloak. It should look ok cause I'm 6'5" and should be pretty intimidating.
Besides that, I'm not sure. A friend and I thought about going as Hans and Frans from SNL. That could be funny. The best one I remember from last year was 'Buddy Lee'. The guy just put on jeans, red flanel, and boots. It was pretty cool. Still looking for more ideas though. Have a safe one!

Besides the fact that I wanted to say that I like the idea of your grim reaper costume, I just wanted to chime in by pledging my full agreement and support to the title under your handle...
Let me say that again..

The kids always like to dress me up for whatever we go do halloween night.
Last year I put some felt ears on a headband and put on kitty whiskers with eyeliner and my cat chased me around the house hissing and yowling at me. It was very funny.
So a kitty is RIGHT out.
I like the anemone idea though. Very cute.
I have the wool skirt/saddleshoes/white dress shirt thing. Guess I can throw on some ponytails and a lollipop
