We're moving!
And I am freaking out!
My husband has a good job in the Seattle area so we are out of here about the 4th of July. Independence Day!
It's not like me to not have everything planned out to a "T" and here I am jumping in with both feet. (I'm driving my husband crazy with "I don't knows" ) I don't have a job yet, we don't have a place to live yet, the house isn't even close to being packed or ready yet, the kids are driving me crazy and Steve is leaving Sunday to start work.
BUT this is a good and positive thing we do. I'm excited, nervous, scared-to-death, and pulling my hair out by turns but I think we are going to be happy, once the moving part is done. Whoever coined the phrase "moving is an adventure" should be shot! LOL

How exciting! But Seattle? Are you sure it's not too late to migrate to sunny California?
Good luck, it will all be worth it I'm sure.

boy that sure sounds like fun alice {snicker}
it will all turn out great in the end. although, chances are, since it's seattle, it'll probably be raining the weekend of the move
remember, when looking at houses, be sure to find one that has a suitable wall for the inevitable inwall tank
good luck!! we're here for ya!

Thanks for the support, gang. By the time the truck is unloaded up there I'll be ready to sleep for a week, I'm sure. The worst part is, I'm not sure what's going to happen with the 135. We're going to be renting and with the time frame working against me, I may have to take whatever I can get as a temp location and the tank may have to go in storage.
If I can't set it back up right away, Mike is going to babysit the corals I can't bear to part with and Woody said he'll take my livestock in trade and then replace them straight across when the tank goes back up. I can't ask for better help than that but it still would make me sad. I'll have the nano for my SW "fix" but it's not quite the same, LOL.
Rick, not sure where we'll be living yet up there but ballpark figure is about 160 miles...I think Doug probably knows the mile-markers by heart by now he makes the drive so often!

Hey there Alice,
We know the feeling. I have been wrking in Seattle since the first of April. Pam was going to stay here for another year, but she was offered a transfer to a store fairly close to where we have been looking for a house.
I am not sure what I am going to do with the 240g and inhabs either. I had wanted to set up a 300g in the new place for about 2 months and then transfer all to the new tank. Now that plan has pretty much gone out the window. Will have to see what happens.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help on either end.
Hang in there!
Chris

Hey Alice! Welcome to the land of high taxes, no income tax, and wet weather.
I'm half kidding, but it's actually nice here. I'm sure you'll love it. It'll be good to have another great reef addict in the area.
Another supporter here if you need anything.

Thanks Chris; I hope the tank situation works out for you somehow. That's great that Pam has a job up there too! I'm looking at a few things now but if they don't work out I will be seriously hunting after we get moved in to our new place.
Reed, how do you like Des Moines? I talked with someone today about a place there. It seems pretty centrally located. Thanks for the offer of help; if I can set up the tank and run into a snag, I'll shoot off a flare
What half were you kidding about? LOL

Hey Alice. Des Moines is really nice. Short ride to the water and it stays cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
I was kidding about the wet weather half.
Cheers.
