weird computer problem
hey all.
got another wierd computer problem..
in a nut shell. everytime i load a cd to look at old pictures or what ever, all i see is what was on the last cd i had in the drive..
what happened...
pics in my build thread are gone, i was looking for the originals thati have on a CD, i loaded the cd and opened my docs. and clicked onthe drive to opent hte cd, all it showed was 3 winamp media files. ...okay so i loaded the wrong cd. i go back and eject CD, place correct cd in drive and see the same 3 files....
i now look at 5 other cd's all said the same thing.. i deleted the winamp program .. I know.. not the smartest... loaded my wood working plans cd... that was fine.. showed all my plans.. ejected this cd and placed the photo cd in drive... it showed the wood plans!!!!!!

Wow, that is a strange one. Never seen that before. Do you have another PC or laptop to check the CD? I'm guessing since your other two CD's seem to display correctly that the one giving you problems has something wrong with it.
Open explorer, by right clicking on start, with the CD you want loaded, if it's showing the incorrect files try clicking View - Refresh to see if it will display the correct files on the CD. HTH

Sean ,
tried that.
no help with that. the CD ( after i restarted the computer) read all the files fine. but did the same thing to the next cd..it is almost like the buffer memery is keeping all the info and not cleaning itself out..

I have had that before. Some info hangs in the pagefile. Its xp right? I would say try all the updates online. Other then that I would have to talk to a couple of friends in the tech support world. I don't remember the exact fix
