Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Movie was VERY funny - I highly recommend it!
No swim practice due to it being 65 we might not HAVE a swim season this year if it does not warm up!

House got cleaned ( the first floor at least) and life is good. Kids are watching a movie and Ben went to get me MOE'S! YEAH!

Connor is reading me and the library out of books ( he read 6 in a little over 2 hours yesterday: 2 capt. UNderpants, 3 rainbow fairies and a Calvin and Hobbs book)

Cath HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has read magic tree house, box car children, rainbow fairies ( on the suggestion of a friend) and has read the 1st Harry Potter and started in on the second....

Encyclopedia brown...

I would love to find some books that challenge him and take him longer then 15 minutes to read!!!!!!
I remember reading Henry Hugginsm and all the Ramona and beezuz books before I started in on the whole set of World Book encyclopedias

Not sure if they still exist but you can get him onto Hardy Boy's. There were like a jillion and I burned through them for a while. My parents were horrified when I read through everything else then picked up their copy of Emmanuel and also Stranger in a Strange Land and read them at probably 7 or 8.

If worse comes to worse hand him a Clancy novel.

Well got a lot done today, found out the problem with two machines that have been bugging, and made some killer portabello mushroom pizzas. The sun is out so everything is good!
Hardy Boys were good to, Clancy may be a little old for him yet, but when hes ready I have a ton of them

Very age appropriate and hopefully timeless.

Another great book is The Swiss Family Robinson, and another is Gulliver's Travels for a kid that is really a reader. No huge concepts with politics or violence there, and it is a "grown up" book.

OK maybe a little fan of hers, so what if to this day my nick is Otis, and my son answers to Spofford.

I liked those as well, and my son was really smitten with "Where the red fern grows" tho that might have been a little later.
I actually enjoyed Twain tho might be hard to find these days

Yep Huckleberry Finn was a great book. I guess in our rush to forget history that book isn't all prim and proper anymore.
