Ya,.. actually I got past it by mistake at first  I always liked FF better and had it installed,.. then I started asking people who knew computers better than me why my IE doesn't work anymore and they told me.
Do you know of any script files that would alow me to change settings in that window that has been greyed out? Do you know how they stopped me from being able to change the "Proxy" settings?

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
I just figured out that I can use "Regedit" to bypass their proxy lockout!!!!!!!!!! I changed the value of the proxy server line to "0" and it alowed me to,.. that unchecked the "Use proxy server for lan" box that I can't check or uncheck due to their little trick

you can also right click on the start button ( I'm assuming you have XP ) and select 'properties'... click the 'customize'button, then in the 'advanced' tab, click "clear list'
