Stacy,.. what you need to do is make something that looks like this picture,.. the easest way is with wooden Shischabob squires and foam balls:

Normally speeking most people don't show the "Orbit" people have the ball in the center, and the electron ball suspended by a wooden dowel or something,.. then wooden dowel feet so it stands up.
