I have seen all the great and wonderful sites that all of you have, we have dreamweaver (think thats the name of it) and fireworks software, can I do it with those or do I need to use something else? any info would be great...am just starting to research this after a "discussion" with the hubby.

Hello there,
Dreamweaver is very highly recommended as an excellent web-authoring software. I write mine in notepad with basic html code, which you can learn for free from a variety of html help sites on the net.
Here is a link to get you started:

http://www.seekeasy.net/html/

If you do a simple search, you'll find a bunch of other sites for learning html.

Most ISP (Internet Service Providers) give you X amount of space for a personal home page for free. Also, at anyone's site, you can click on "View" in the menu bar, then "Source" and you'll see what their html code looks like for their page. If you look at those done with various authoring programs, it might look a bit odd, but if you look at a page done with straight html code in notepad, then it will look like the "real thing" as you learn it from the above-listed website.

This help is just a start, but once you get started, you'll get the hang of it and it will get easier and easier.

I use Microsoft FrontPage. It is pretty easy to make a website (no need to know HTML code) it’s kind like MS Word, but for the web. It is one of the best HTML editing software’s out there! There are a lot of advanced features too, so as you learn the software has the power you need. But it does cost a lot; so it might be a little over kill for just one little reef web.
