I once came home to water running out from under my wall from a skimmer overflow,.. I can't tell you how much I didn't want to open the door to my APT,.. I thought a tank had let go.

good news, it's in the basement already
bad news is I have a 70 gal sump and a 25 gal ATO
still haven't left work to find out
my last skimmer flood was when the sump was still under the tank
MOM told me I was on thin ice when that happen

Mine was only into the carpet by about 5 gallons or so, but skimmate in the carpet stinks either way.
